    -If you were born in Live Oak County and would like to request a copy of a birth certificate or death certificate by mail please complete Birth/Death Application and sign in front of a notary public. You MUST also have a copy of an Unexpired Driver's License to attach to the application.

  • Warning:

    It Is A Felony To Falsify Information On A Marriage License Application. The Penalty For Knowingly Making A False Statement On The Form Or For Signing A Form Which Contains A False Statement Is 2 To 10 Year Imprisonment And A Fine Of Up Top $10,000. (Health And Safety Code, Chapter 195 Sec 195.003)

    Marriage License- $81.00 (Please have the City & County you were born in, phone number, and address information ready)

    • Can't be divorced within the last 30 days
    • 72 hour waiting period
    • License is valid for 90 days

    Informal Marriage License- $51.00 (Please have the City & County you were born in, phone number, and address information ready)

    • Both applicants must be present

    • 18 years of age

    • Be able to state when they considered themselves husband and wife.

    All Marriage License MUST be returned to the County Clerk's Office to be recorded. Otherwise, they will not be recognized by the State.( Also MUST have Title of the person who performs the marriage and County you are married in)

    Texas Family Code Section 2.209(c) provides for corrections to a recorded marriage license provided that both parties to the marriage execute a notarized affidavit stating the error.

  • If you are a business and would like to file a DBA with Live Oak County, please complete DBA form and sign in front of a notary public and return to our office.  The fee for a DBA is $23.50, with an additional fee of $.50 for each additional name.

  • Live Oak County residents are encouraged to file their official military discharge with this office. There is no charge to file your military discharge, and by filing the military discharge form, a permanent record is maintained for future proof of service for veteran's benefits. The original is returned to the owner after recording.

    Application for Certified Copy of Military Discharge can be found in our office and must be completed in person.
